Small flower pots / Petits pots de fleurs

Spring is in the air in the quilting world too...
Remember the Flower Patch by Red Button Quilt co which I started a little while ago? I started with piecing the sixteen patch blocks and now I am working on the appliqué blocks.

Le printemps est dans l'air dans le monde du patchwork aussi...
Vous vous rappelez le Flower Patch de chez Red Button Quilt co que j'ai commencé il y a quelques temps? Après les blocks de 16 patchs je couds maintenant les blocs d'appliqués.

And I found the perfect brown wool for the pots

Et j'ai trouvé la laine marron idéale pour les pots

I did use fusible web to fix the pieces. However, as the wool is thick and the fibers fragile, I have discovered that one needs to iron from the back of the fabric. I had to throw away my first applique block! The wool did not stick and then I had to use too much heat for the fusible web to stick, thus damaging the wool.

Now let's find some embroidery thread to blanket stitch these little pots...

J'ai utilisé du pellon thermocollant pour fixer les morceaux. Cependant, étant donné que la laine est épaisse et les fibres fragiles, j'ai découvert qu'il faut repasser à l'arrière du tissu. J'ai dû jeter mon premier bloc d'appliqué! La laine ne collait pas bien et, comme j'avais mis trop de chaleur pour faire coller le pellon, je l'avais abîmée.
Je vais maintenant chercher du coton à broder pour faire un point de feston sur ces petits pots...
