Our little girl turned 5 this month and when asked what she wanted, she said she wanted a sleeping bag for her Peter rabbit. So I made this little pink and blue one with a little pillow. It took me more time to think about the different stages of its realization than to actually sew it!

Notre petit puce a eu 5 ans ce mois-ci et quand je lui ai demandé ce qu'elle voulait comme cadeau, elle m'a dit qu'elle voulait un sac de couchage pour son lapin. J'ai donc fait ce petit sac de couchage rose et bleu avec un petit oreiller intégré. Cela m'a pris plus de temps pour réfléchir à sa réalisation que pour le coudre!

If you remember, for her 3rd birthday I made her this pillow with an appliqué of her rabbit.

Si vous vous souvenez, pour ses 3 ans je lui ai fait ce coussin avec son lapin en appliqué.

I am still working on hand quilting my Scandinavian Heart Quilt. It is relaxing but it does take a long time and I need to apply myself to have a regular time set for this task, if I want to see the end of it!

Je continue à quilter à la main mon patch Coeurs Scandinaves. C'est très relaxant mais cela prend beaucoup de temps et il me faut vraiment établir un horaire de travail régulier pour cette tâche, si je veux en voir la fin!

I am quilting simple straight lines on the strips around the central block.

Je matelasse avec de simple lignes les bandes encadrant le bloc central.

On the back you can see better the hand quilting and how much I have done.

Au dos on voit mieux le travail de matelassage et le travail accompli.

I am, at the same time, trying to finish piecing the Sweet Gingers flannel quilt. More about that later...

En même temps, je travaille à terminer le piécé du patch en flanelle Sweet Gingers. A suivre...

More hearts... / Encore des coeurs...

I have not been able to post for a while... Life does not always run smoothly, especially with children, and the priority goes to them, obviously.

I am therefore a bit behind to show you some table sets I made years ago for Valentine's day. I bought them ready made, they are in white linen, and I simply embroidered them with different heart designs.

Je n'ai pu poster de message depuis quelques temps... La vie n'est pas toujours un long fleuve tranquille, surtout avec des enfants, et bien sûr, ce sont eux qui ont priorité.

Je suis donc quelque peu en retard pour vous montrer des sets de table que j'ai fait il y a des années pour la Saint Valentin. J'ai acheté les sets déjà faits en lin blanc et j'ai simplement brodé différents motifs de coeurs.

J'en ai fait huit avec deux coeurs au point de croix dans deux angles opposés

With four different designs

Avec quatre motifs différents

They were pretty quick to make and look really great on a table with a few added accessories in the same theme.

Il a été assez rapide de les broder et rendent vraiment bien sur une table avec quelques accessoires dans le même thème.

Besides, one is always pretty proud to set a table with handmade decorations!

Et puis on est toujours assez fière de dresser une table avec de la déco fait main!

Sweet Gingers Quilt / Patch Sweet Gingers

This Sweet Gingers quilt requires more work than I had expected!!! I believe I had underestimated the embroidery stage...

Ce patch Sweet Gingers prend beaucoup plus de temps que je ne l'escomptais!!! Je crois bien avoir sous estimé le travail de broderie...

I have managed to frame each heart block

J'ai tout de même réussi à encadrer chaque bloc coeur

Then I dressed the little gingerbread men

Ensuite j'ai habillé les petits bonhommes en pain d'épices

 

I blanket stitched all around in brown

J'ai fait un point de feston tout autour en brun

In white for the brown gingerbread men

En blanc pour les bonhommes marron

And now I need to do the same around each piece of red flannel

Et maintenant je dois faire de même tout autour de chaque pièce de flanelle rouge

I use two threads of embroidery floss. It shows, but not too much, and it slides easily through the flannel.

These little pieces of red flannel are going to take me ages...

J'utilise deux brins de mouliné. Cela ressort suffisamment et le coton glisse aisément à travers la flanelle. 

Ces petits morceaux de flanelle rouge vont me prendre un temps fou...
