In the end, we did not wait for a rainy weekend to get quilting, but chose a quiet one, without outdoor activity, when we were just going to catch up on a few chores and watch a nice film.

Finalement, nous n'avons pas attendu un weekend pluvieux pour nous mettre au matelassage, mais avons choisi un weekend calme, sans activité d'extérieur, pour rattraper diverses tâches et regarder un bon film.

After a few preliminary trials on scrap fabric and batting, Adélia starting the serious quilting

Après quelques essais avec des bouts de tissu et de molleton, Adélia a commencé le travail sérieux du matelassage.

Simple straight diagonal lines

Now it needs a pretty fabric for the binding

Maintenant il faut un joli petit imprimé pour le biais de finition

 Adélia chose this pretty dotted pink

I am taking care of sewing the binding as it is too difficult for her still

Je m'occupe de coudre le biais de finition, car c'est encore trop difficile pour elle

Pïnk and brown doll quilt / Patch de poupée rose et brun

This is a project that my daughter did last April for her doll HERE
Voici un projet que ma fille a réalisé en avril dernier ICI

Each block measures 1" 1/2

Way too difficult for a 9-year-old to piece, though we have tried different techniques

Chaque bloc mesure 1 inch 1/2

Bien trop difficile pour une enfant de 9 ans à piécer, bien que nous ayons essayé plusieurs techniques

So I did the piecing

J'ai donc réalisé le piécé

I did press the seams open for this project

J'ai ouvert les marges de coutures pour ce projet

We now need a rainy weekend to do the next step of the sandwich and quilting as my daughter wants to do it herself.

Il nous faut maintenant un weekend pluvieux pour l'étape suivante du sandwich et du matelassage car ma fille veut le faire elle-même

And so far, weekends are for cycling and hiking, making the most of the nice weather before winter arrives here in Montreal

Et nous profitons au maximum des derniers beaux weekends pour faire du vélo et de la randonnée, avant que l'hiver arrive ici à Montréal.
