Whenever I get the opportunity, I peruse Quilting magazine and books. I made the mistake once of not buying the magazine in which I had seen a pattern I loved, but there was only that one that I liked, and have since regretted it... 

Chaque fois que j'en ai l'occasion, je feuillette les magazines et livres de patchwork. Une fois j'ai commmis l'erreur de ne pas acheter le magazine dans lequel j'avais vu un modèle que je trouvais superbe, mais c'était le seul, et je l'ai depuis bien regretté...

No chance of making that mistake again now....

I bought this magazine years ago

But I must leave this aside and start with a long-awaited quilt, which I promised one of my nieces

Mais je dois laisser ceci de côté et commencer un patch attendu depuis longtemps, promis à l'une de mes nièces

And this is the color scheme she has chosen

Et voici l'assortiment de couleurs qu'elle a choisi

I luckily found the background fabric in a shop in Montreal, cream with a checkered pattern

J'ai eu la chance de trouver le tissu de fond dans un magasin de tissu à Montréal, crème avec un imprimé à carreaux

Let's start with the the trickiest, the flying geese blocks

I am using the method with the 2 squares and the rectangle

Commençons par le plus fastidieux, les blocs flying geese

J'utilise la méthode avec les 2 carrés et le rectangle

And am saving the leftover triangles, paired and secured with a pin, to make easy half square triangle blocks

Et je mets de côté les triangles de chutes, superposés par deux avec une épingle, pour coudre rapidement des blocs triangles demi carrés

I think these will come very handy in a sawtooth border for a quilt one day ...

Je pense qu'ils me seront bien utiles pour réaliser une bordure en dents de scie dans un futur patch...
