My summer finish "A country like atmosphere"
Mon patch terminé "Un air de campagne"

Here is the other project I took with me for my holidays and I am very proud to have just finished it! I love the colorful checkered border!

Quilting around each block
Le matelassage autour de chaque bloc

I did not have enough of the greenish black checkered fabric, used as inner border, to do the binding but found a pretty print which had just the right colors in it, green, yellow, red and black.

All done!
C'est fait!

For the back, I used a beige flower print.

I ran out of the beige print I was using for my background for the trees, just for one little piece at the foot of one tree. I decided to turn this into an asset and hand stitched the name of my quilt and the year in the tiny rectangle.

I know, it appears crooked but it isn't. I still need to make some progress with my photographic skills!!!
Incidentally, the idea of signing the quilt at the front came from my visit to the Texas Quilt Museum where I discovered the year and the quilter's name of an antique quilt hidden among the overall quilting design. I pointed it out to the curators who had not noticed it.

A very original idea to bear in mind, don't you think?
