Seaside creation / Création bord de mer

My friend Caroline, who is truly gifted with her hands, offered me this beautiful seashell ball she made with all the seashells she had collected during her walks along beaches. She is the last of our patchwork group to leave us this year and she thought of making a present for the two of us, Lut and myself, who are staying in Dallas. So very kind of her!

Mon amie Caroline, qui est vraiment douée de ses mains, m'a offert cette magnifique boule de coquillages qu'elle a faite avec tous ceux qu'elle a ramassés au hasard de ses ballades sur les plages. Elle est la dernière de notre groupe de patch à nous quitter cette année et a pensé à offrir un cadeau à Lut et à moi qui sommes les deux restant à Dallas.

She has balanced the various types of shells perfectly...

Elle a réparti les différents coquillages superbement...

She made it using a foam ball on which she glued the seashells, section by section, to allow each to dry before going on to the next one. She put the ball on a jug so that it would not tip over.

We all love to walk on the beach and collect seashells and this is a great project to keep them as a decoration or your coffee table.

Elle l'a faite à partir d'une boule en polystyrène sur laquelle elle a collé les coquillages, travaillant par section afin de permettre à chacune de sécher avant d'entamer la suivante. Elle a placé la boule sur une cruche afin qu'elle ne bascule pas par le poids des coquillages.

Nous aimons tous marcher sur la plage et ramasser des coquillages et ce projet est vraiment parfait pour en faire une jolie décoration pour la table du salon.

Now just before catching my plane back to my region of origin ,Lorraine, where temperatures are much cooler in the summer than Texas, I have started on the biggest block of the From Deauville to Cape Cod quilt.

Juste avant de prendre l'avion pour ma région d'origine, La Lorraine, où les températures l'été sont bien plus fraîches qu'au Texas, j'ai commencé le bloc le plus grand du patch De Deauville à Cape Cod.

I have put my summer projects in my suitcase and a little something to keep me busy on the plane...

J'ai mis mes projets de l'été dans ma valise et un petit ouvrage pour m'occuper dans l'avion...
